Depends on whether you want to stand still or not...
Just take off in first and floor it = tires will spin.
OR
Bring the rpms up to 3000 or so and dump the clutch in first gear = lots of tire spin.
OR
Same as above but in second gear to REALLY get some smoke going.
To do any of this while staying in place requires a quick left foot to get off the clutch and on the brakes enough to stop the car rolling but not enough to stop the rear tires from spinning.
Second gear = lots of smoke!

yeah don't hold to much break down, i did that other night my first time trying to do a burnout i got it going pretty good but i had to much break and i killed it..... pretty embarrassing .
