Default clutch decisions

would a SPEC stage 3 be to much for the mods in my signature? i took my car to the track and now my stock one is slipping. what else do i need to buy. thanks

There's really no such thing as " too much clutch", it's morte of what you can tolerate. If you are looking at a Spec clutch, I'd go at least stage 4. They are very streetable IMO, and the holding force is enough for a 10 second car, so under the use you are giving it, it should hold up rather well.

Stage four is way overkill for your mods. And while JL may feel that its streetable, you may or may not agree, depending on your application. With your mods, and even the future cam, you could probably get by with a stage 2. A stage three would be a nice upgrade with some room to grow. I wouldnt jump to a stage four clutch untill you know enough about clutches to know that you need a stage four without even asking.

I just got a SPEC Stage 3F w/ Billet steel flywheel. Good to 800hp. Great daily driver clutch too.

i notice thatr the stagew 3 and the stage 4 have the same capacities. what are the differences in the 2?

The stage 3 is a sprung hub, the stage 4 isn't.
