Question Clutch disk only???

NEWBIE QUESTION:

Ok my clutch (Spec Stage 3) is slipping due to the wear.
So can I replace only the clutch disk ( I never seen anybody [sponsors] mentioned clutch disk only--price $, they are talking about kits only. 400$ plus

Usually I replace the disk, pp, and have the flywheel reserfaced on other cars. I would imagine it's the same routine with ls1's.

I've wondered this myself. It seems like you could get away with this once or twice if you went through them fairly fast.

I don't think so. I'm pritty sure you need to replace the presure plate and the disk at the same time regardless of the make. Some can be resurfeced and disk redone but you can't just through a disk in.

It will burn up way before it's supose to. I wouldn't wast my time if your going to be there just replace the PP with the disk. Unless your trying to sell and you want a good clutch for the guy to test drive then do it, but if you want any kind of longjevity then replace the pp wiht the disk and resurface the flywheel.
