Default Quick answers - Clutch Master Cylinder Install

Anyone have any tricks to getting the effing u-bolt through the firewall? I'm sure a friend would help things a lot, but I'm flying solo today.

I've been jacking with this for 2 hours now, and no luck.

Luck...........Seriously though it is a PITA. I had all sorts of cuts on my hands and arms and I'm really small. Try it with your arm going from the right side, instead of the left, when you are facing from the front to the rear. I found that I could look down through this area with a light and see the bolt holes, where as from the left it was extremely difficult. It's hard to explain, I wish I had a pic to show you what I was talking about more clearly. Good luck.

Pull the coil packs for more room. This will make it a lot easier.

use two lights; one by the pedals and one in the engine compart. This way, you can see the holes.

Make sure that the rod that connects to the pedal goes on the correct side of the pedal arm when you finally get it in or else you'll be taking it back out and starting over!!

Good luck!
