stops heat from the headers heating the fluid, maybe causing bubbles and a soft pedal or "stuck to the floor" pedal. I went to the track and ran one run after another, my car was obviously pretty hot, and on the 4th run my clutch pedal felt like it stuck to the floor when I tried to shift into 2nd gear. I heard this was a problem.

I think metal fasteners would be my choice over the plastic tie-wraps but this a good direction to go.

This is the stuff I used in the pics, it's made by Taylor Cable, it is a cable fire sheild. It can be purchased in various lenghts and inside diameters.

I agree that the plastic tie straps are not the best to fasten the insulation but it was all I had at the moment, and just wanted to test the insulation to see if there would be any difference, I can always use safty wire or small clamps later if the tie straps cannot hold up to the heat.

I went to the track last weekend, and make about 9 passes, the clutch felt much better, pedal was still a little soft at the end of the run, taking the car out of 4th during shut down. But it did recover MUCH quicker, by the time I made the turn down the return lane it was back to normal.

So in my opinion the insulation helped me out.

That looks alot like what I did to mine, except I used some heater hose to cover the line. I also used a few zip ties to keep it all together and haven't had any problems yet.

I used aluminum tape covered by 3/8" rubber fuel line. Have not had a mushy pedal in 3 years.
