Default underbody rumble/rattle

Got a question here. I just bought my 2001 SS a week ago, and lately i've noticed a rumbling/rattling noise coming from under the car when out of gear. I happens when the clutch is both in and out. I'm not sure if its exhaust rattle, driveshaft rattle, or what the heck it is....or maybe its just normal. i read something on here about a similer noise a guy was having, and people said it was probably how the transmission is put together...loosely, to handle the torque. something like that anyway. If anyone has any ideas, i'd be very happy to hear your opinion. I just hope this isn't a "bad" noise

thanks

Sounds like you might have a loose heat sheild or it is hitting the body. I know they will rattle some times if loose or have been pushed out of position. Or next to the exhaust. There are quite a few of them on the under side.
