Textralia is in and working good
If you read my last post about me having the problem with disengaging, I could figure out what was wrong. I spoke to Pete and Jeff from Textralia and they were extremely helpful about trying to find out what exactly the problem was. Initially they thought it was air in the lines, but after bleeding it dozens of times, using different methods, I knew something else was the problem. Pete thought it might be my master cylinder, and asked if I would get a new one, so I went and bought a new OEM MC, but that didnt work, even after re bleeding everything again. Well I tried everything we could think of and it was still having a problem so Pete told me to have the car towed to MTI and they would look at it and do the rest of the work to get it fixed, and that HE would cover all the expenses! Long story short, MTI was very busy and couldnt get time to pull the tranny until later, so then the car was towed to HPE. We thought a shim behind the slave should fix the problem, and MTI gave me a SPEC shim to try out. ...side note, the tow driver locked his keys in the car with the engine running, and they had to call another service man... the car got to HPE and they said they could start working on it that day. They couldnt find the problem, and Jeff said on Monday he would send out a whole new clutch to try and he would send it next day. Then, the problem was identified by another member on here that the friction disk was too big. Well the clutch arrived Tuesday and HPE finnished up on the install. I asked for them to not install the shim with the new clutch but later when I asked for the shim so I could return it to MTI, I found that they did install it. I talked to Jeff about it and he said it shouldnt be a problem, it would just raise the pedal point up more than normal. I was worried about the clutch not fully engaging but he said it would be fine. My exhaust bracket for my Y pipe is missing and when I called HPE they said they couldnt find it, and now when I pull in my garage the pipe scrapes
If you dont want to read that long paragraph, the basic point is Textralia has outstanding customer service!
That was the story, heres my thoughts about the clutch
Clutch point is at the top of the pedal, this is how my stock one was and I like it here rather than at the very bottom, it makes for easier/quicker shifts.
The pedal feels about the same but it has different points, I have to get used to it again and I have to practice taking off smoothly again.
The interval of clutch pedal travel for "slipping" is far smaller than the stock. I have to feel for the point and when taking off in 1st I have to be really smooth.
The clutch feels much more grippier than stock, I put my stock street tires/rims on to drive and break in the clutch, and about 1/4 the time if Im taking off from a light and I let it out a little to quick Ill bark the tires.
There is definitely a more agressive feel for the clutch, but it is definitley streetable too. If you want it to drive real smooth you just have to rpm match.
I am very satisfied so far with how it drives, I want to drive it enough to break it in properly and then Ill go to the track again and see how it does there.
Bigsteele, What size is the shim, do you know? I just had a guy give me one, it was from spec. It was new in the plastic. But I'm not sure exactly what size it is though. It looks to be close to an 1/8".
I'm doing the drill mod. And I'm going to bleed the **** out of the system.
Good luck, thanks fellas.

Hey BigSteele, how much did you pay for your new M/C? The dealership here in Dallas wants $191 and I though that was a bit high.
