Default No gears at higher RPMs- car isnt as fun.

Gear selector hangs up when upshifting at higher RPMs (when racing). Gear disengages easily, then gets hung up for a moment before going into the next gate. This happens on every upshift 1-2 2-3 3-4 4-5, but never happens at lower sub 3000 rpm shifts. The selector has always seemed a little "notchy" when shifting gears, but now its getting hung up bad. No grinding or sounds. Pedel is firm.

The upgraded (ls6) master and slave have about 3000 miles on them and i have bled the system using high temp fluid. The hydraulics are shielded. Immediately following a run (while everything is still hot) the shifts are fast and smooth provided the rpms are lower. I've ruled out boiling the fluid.

I would be grateful for any suggestions or similar experiences. It aint as fun anymore when it takes FOREVER to shift. I'm headed to a complete rebuild with upgrades, but dont want the throw money at the wrong parts.
Thanks!

Yeah, did the drill mod.

Thinking that since its only high RPM problems it must be a balance or bearing issue. Something must be wobbling pretty bad that it doesnt line up.

Anyone?

Maybe the blocker rings are worn. When the friction material gets worn out the synchros have a hard time doing there job.

Dropped it off at a well known shop here. They think its a syncro issue. Upgrading synchros and shift fork.

Good point was made, that if something were out of balance, I would feel the resulting vibrations. Things are smooth, so I can rule the balance issue out.

Another possibility is a clutch not releasing cleanly at high rpm.

I have the same damn problem. Go to the track, do one good run and that is it. It has to be something related to the heat. Could the pressure plate be out of balance or something?

But my pedal does stay on the bottom. I have to literally pull it up.

6spdpewterZ you need to do the drill mod it seems.

Mine was doing the same thing, worked great at cruise. When i got on it though, it wouldnt shift for ****.... i think its my syncros.... but not sure.

I had several problems with a Spec II/ Clutchmasters install about 4000 miles ago. What could cause the clutch to not release at high rpm?

If I put the shifter in gear while holding the clutch pedal down (not engaged) the car sometimes rolls when I rev it high. What causes that? oversized flywheel? Hydraulics? How to fix it?

This is a sure sign that the clutch is not disengagin completly. The most popular way to fix this is going with an adjustable master. You could also shim the clutch. I would go with the adjustable master.
