Cartek clutch I order...
I ordered the clutch on Dec.7th. Dave billed my credit card that day and said they shipped it. Well 2 weeks later no clutch so I called Dave. He said it was shipped and will be there anyday now. 1 week after that I call back and ask where my clutch is...Dave says he will check on it and call me back. 1 week later no call or clutch!! I call back and he said he doesn't have any info for me, so I tell him to get on top of it and I will call back in the evening. I call later that day and he says he doesn't know where the clutch is...so he sends me another one.
Well so far all I have to say is the clutch better be worth the wait!!! So far all I have to show for my money is a headache, and a stock slipping clutch!

I ordered mine about the same time of the year last year ('00) and it took about 2 months for me to receive as well. But, Dave and Julio were always good about letting me know of delays with their pressure plate supplier. It was DEFINITELY worth the wait, I almost swapped to an automatic car I was hating the clutch issues so badly.

Its one thing to tell a customer about supply problems but another to say a clutch is shipped when it really isn't (Not saying that is the case here though)
I hope you get it soon!

I got the same BS story. I lossed out on Hotel reservations and race money just because they tld me i WOULD have when i didn't get it for a week later. I even paid EXTRA to get it early and did i get a refund for it? NOPE!
I also never got my core deposit back from them. I even called and Dave verified he DID receive my core and would process the credit that day. ! month later nothing and i am disputing it with my credit card company!
Good product but LOUSY AS HELL operations and help once something is ordered...

I just ordered mine a few days ago and was starting to wonder when it will be here. I guess I won't be at Silver Dollar on the 26th after all.

Dave never said they were waiting for a part. Everytime I spoke with him I have been told it has already been shipping.
By the way...still no clutch!!

I had the same problem about not getting my core money back. I got a hold of Julio and now its on its way and Ive been in direct email everyday with him. Good clutch and good service once everything is worked out. Julio had some internet issues and credit card company issues but should have it straightened out now. Talk to Julio, not Dave.

Re: Cartek clutch I order...
Clutch finally arrived today! Everything was there, but Cartek sure did a shitty job of packaging. They didn't put anything on the bottom of the box for padding so the clutch fingers ended up rubbing through the bottom of the box. I haven't had time to really check it out yet, but I hope none of the fingers have any damage!

Re: Cartek clutch I order...
Here is an update on my cartek clutch issues. I had the clutch installed today, put everything back together and was all ready to take the car out for it's maiden voyage...so I thought. The clutch pedal went straight to the floor!! That's right...Cartek did not bleed the Master Cylinder like they said they would, so I ended up having to have the shop pull the tranny again to bleed the system! You better believe I am calling Cartek about this on Monday!! Nothing but problems with their clutch so far!

Re: Cartek clutch I order...
FWIW, you can bleed the clutch without pulling the tranny. The access hole is just above where the braided line goes through (you can't see it, but you can feel it). A 7/16" socket and a low profile 1/4" wrench or breaker bar get the job done. I've got to do mine again soon...

Sounds like the shop took advantage of you by agreeing to pull the tranny just to bleed the clutch hydro's. Granted you have had problems with the clutch install, but I would take a closer look at where the problems originated rather than blame it all on Cartek.

I haven't had any problems with the clutch install except for the master cylinder not being prebled. All the problems were from Cartek not sending me the clutch like they said they did. They ended up not pulling the tranny...they noticed that they could bleed it without pulling the tranny again so that was cool. I got the car this morning and the clutch works great...as matter of fact I have not noticed any chatter yet. Only thing I have noticed is a slight smell coming from under the car, but I is probably from the install(greasy hands on exhaust, clutch break in...etc). Hopefully all goes well.
Oh yeah...I had them put in the SLP short shifter. Man it is kick @ss...much shorter throw and precise shifts, but it is hard to get into gear. Hopefully that will go away.

Let me know if you have the same problem as some other people with the engagement points changing on you. I am still up in the air about what clutch to get.

Sounbds like they went to the same customer service school that Roger Grotyohann attended. Perhaps it's something in the air in their geographic area - I think they're only a couple of hours from one another.
979BlueTA: My engagement point changed after a SPEC Stage II clutch. It's been notchy off-idle ever since. Decent while rolling, but no speed shifting allowed. $0.02
