Default vibration through clutch

i just started having a really bad vibration when i push in the clutch. you can feel it through the pedal and the stick. i am stumped. i would imagine its my flywheel or clutch. i have a spec stage 3 thats about a 1 and a half to two years old. anyone want to take a stab at this.

Is it at a specific RPM or throughout the range of the motor? You might want to check the bolts on the PP and flywheel. Did you tighten them to spec., in a star pattern, WITH lock-tite?

Did this just start all of a sudden? Have you replaced anything at all very recently? It does kind of sound like a loose pp. Need to get it checked out before something lets loose in there and causes a major problem.

I have gone thru 4 spec stage 3 clutches and each time had a vibration similar to what you describe...turns out I was breaking the springs in the sprung hub. Input shaft had way to much play. You probably have fried your pilot bearing and the input shaft is moving around to much.

Like amazza76 said input shaft looseness can cause problems. I just had my trans gone through and my input shaft had a LOT of play in it. My pilot bearing was chewed all to crapp, practically vaporized. Nothing but a bunch of metal powder in there. I had to pull it all out with a magnet. I had shifting problems and strange vibrations etc.
Now everything is golden. Smooth as a baby's booty.
Also, check the small (approx.) 1/4" dowel pins that are located at the 3:00 and 9:00 positions on the trans mounting face. Make sure these are still in there. Sometimes they get lost, removed or mashed into the bellhousing. They are supposed to be tapped in to and remain in the trans. The help properly located and center the trans.
