Drill mod?
#4
I screwed up the first time trying to drill it with a 5/32 drill bit rather than a 1/8 thinking that bigger is better and drilled the sleeve to thin causing the inner lining to get cut and it leaked. Went and got a used line and the second time was easy, clutch works awesome "liitle chatter still"

I did this after several track days where it simply would not go into 3rd normally after a low-speed, 2nd gear turn called the Oak Tree at VIR. The turn follows a 100+ mph 4th gear run and opens onto a 4000 ft straight. You really want to come out of it in 2nd, but 3rd was a wall and required coasting a few yards to let the hydraulic fluid "catch up" before it would go in.
So I did the drill mod and it seems to have done the trick. The last 8 or so track days have not seen a repeat. I'll give it a thumbs up.

Ok was this dumb? I have a 98, and "back in the day" my clutch sucked....I believe that GM discontinued it, anyway replaced it with a new GM clutch that was for the Z06 with a new slave / master. The slave master assy. was supposed to have been updated? anyone know if that is true? Or should I just take it apart and check? I noticed Keliente did the mod on a 2000, I thought problem was solved by then???

The drill mod removes a built in restriction that slows down the flow of the fluid. So by removing the restriction, you are allowing the fluid to flow freely and thus engaging and disengaging your clutch faster. I have felt on mine where the car feels like it is slowly speeding up until the clutch is fully engaged. I plan to make sure to do this when I replace my clutch master (hopefully this winter). I hate that feeling when I am getting on it and can feel the clutch not fully engaged.
