Default Help with clutch!!!!

I need a clutch, but I dont know what to buy. (Yes I know I need a clutch.) I am looking at a spec stage 2, but what else do i need to buy? Do I need a flywheel?, or anything else in that matter? My car has 58,XXX miles on it. I want to keep cost as low as possable, so any advise will be helpful!

I am having a Mcleod twin disk put in mine right now. They are a little expensive $1600 but that includes a flywheel. Let you know later on driveablity but from what I hear, it just like the stock one.

Unless you have alot of mods, why not take a look at the ZO6 clutch setup, holds well (at least for the mostly stock power levels)
Get the clutch and flywheel, ($350) and the upgraded hydraulics (slave $115, and master $143) you can skip the hydraulics if it's a 01+
That a low enough cost for ya

2K2 Is soo happens that my car is a 01. Will it hold say 380rwhp?

Well the hp of a ZO6 is what 405@ crank, so I would say it would, unless you plan on alot of track time/launches

Lets say i go with the spec, Do I have to have a new flywheel? Can I use the stock one? And do I have to buy ANY other parts?

I'd at the very least get your stock flywheel turned, but I'd recommend just getting a new flywheel. You're already in there, might as well do it right.

2k2 pretty much covered it... you don't need the upgraded hydraulics since you have an 01+, so the clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel should pretty much do it. Might wanna do the drill mod on your hydraulics though.

Is that hard to do?(drill mod) I read up on it on installuniversity.com and it seems alittle confusing. Dont wanna f8ck up my car

when u get your flywheel turned, you might have to shim it. i dont think mine was shimmed, plus i got the shitty hydraulics. so after 13k miles my spec stage 1 took a crap. im gettin the stage 3 and a new flywheel. that together is like 580.00. but i wont have to worry about shims now. plus im upgrading my crappy hydraulics in my 98' that gets a lil expenssive there tho. mcleod adjustable master-309.00 and mcleod slave 129.00 but ill never have to work on the clutch again. cause ill never push 680 hp, lol

i got a centerforce spec 5 racing clutch its nice and tight feels good and it cost abot 800 for the clutch kit .... good clutch

Whether or not to get a new flywheel is going to depend alot on the condition of your current one, if you haven't beat the hell out of the car, you can likely get away with having your old one resurfaced, but just in case I'd budget for getting a new one, better safe than sorry.
I've had one that had a nice crack in it, that I found when I pulled the clutch off, then it was a mad scramble to find a replacement, so I could get it finished, this car wasn't beat on at all, but the flywheel was still unusable.
Besides, even if you don't use it this time, you'll probably need it for the next one
