What clutch will hold 1000 rwhp?
So we just dynoed my car last week and i blew up 2 ram vds900 clutches. we just ordered the twin disk mcleod. Anyone have experience with this clutch holding this much power?
I heard at first it was very on/off, but Allan installed it and said that it was driving very good.
Just out of curiosity, what other clutches are out there that can hold this kind of power?

Yes, so far its 756 rwhp on 12 lbs, should be a little more when everything is finalized.
I am expecting though to have close to 1000 rwhp on race fuel, hence the question.
I was just curious of any other clutches holding the power, or if other people that recently bought the mcleod clutch to bring some input on it in here.

how much tq? Be weary of the spec V at those power lvls, We had one with close to 1000tq that the pressure plate disentigrated nearly killing the driver. With that much power you have no room to mess around at all.

What about the exedy twin disk. I have heard really good things about those. They use them alot on the supras in Japan and they are making some crazy numbers. Might want to look into it.

I am installing a Mcleod twin disk in mine. Underground racing are using them on there vipers and I know of three vipers that are making 1400rwhp and up and the Mcleod twin disk is holding fine with no problems.

Just curious, are there any high-horsepower cars here running the textralia? I know theres a few in Australia, ut I'm talking here in the US. I always see people very quick to recommend it, but most of the people I've seen running it have 350-500rwhp.
NOTE: I'm not doublting textralia's clutch in any way! I'm just curious...
