Every Mcleod master cylinder I have installed (well over 10 now), I bench bled them before installing. This works so much better than trying to bleed the unit inside the car. I used a Mighty Vac or a Phoenix injector with the master cylinder and slave cyl. attached. This has worked flawlessly everytime and takes only a few minutes.

You can do this with everything in the car, but it will get messy.

Me in the car...pump the pedal 25 times and hold it to the floor. Buddy under the car opens the bleeder while you keep your foot on the pedal holding it to the floor. Buddy closes the valve. I take my foot off the pedal and use my toe to pry the pedal off the floor. Pump and pull off the floor until it works ok and repeat the 25 times routine. I did this 5 times with the Mcleod and it works great. Keep an eye on the fluid level while you're doing this so it doesn't get too low...you'll have to add fluid between sets.

Keep pumping the pedal until you start to feel the pressure build up and then have someone bleed it. I did this myself using a long breaker bar to hold the clutch in. I had to pump the pedal like 50 times before I got anything.
