Default Shifting Problems

Lately my transmission has been grinding when i try to shift it to fast into 2nd and 5th gear. If i go slow it does not grind. My Master cylinder also leaks. the resevior is usually empty within a couple of days most of the time but somethimes almost a week. i was wondering if anyone knew what my problem might be? i was thinking about replacing the master, slave, and throwout bearing but do not know if that will fix my problem.

Replacing those would probably cure the problem, sounds like the drill mod would be a good idea too.

If you get a grind you might have a bad master due to pedal engagement or disengagement. It may also be time for the synchro upgrade as well if you are gonna get in there and take the slave out.

I'm having the same problem with my 01 SS.

It grinds going into 2nd when in higher revs and there's a rubbing feeling through the shift lever when at lower revs. I've already replaced the slave cylinder and that didn't help. The system has been well bled and the fluid is clean.

Will doing the master cylinder fix it? Or do I have bad synchros? It only has 36k miles on it.

OEM, Ram, McLeod, or other for a replacement, if I must?

probably the synchro or shift fork from the slave not engaging due to leaking and jaming it into gear

Another hat in the ring....mine has the same exact problem, its plagued me for months. I couldn't find any answers. I'm probably going to buy new synchros/maybe shift fork. My master is always full.
