No Skip Shift since I put in the 4.10's; cool, but why?

Don't get me wrong, I didn't like the skip shift, but after 5 years I'd learned to drive around it. Anyway, I haven't even seen the light since I installed the 4.10's and reprogrammed for new gear ratios (DiabloSport Predator). Did the Predator delete the Skip Shift (cool, but I'd wish I'd known before...), or is it something about the way the PCM deals with 4.10's, OR... did I forget to hook something back up (that I wish I'd unhooked long ago...)?

the plug for the skip shift is on the drivers side of the tranny. Unless you messed with that, then it probably has something to do with the predator. Plus, if you just unplugged the skip shift then you would throw a code.

The predator has nothing to do with the skip-shift unless you got a mail order tune from some place like RWTD and they deleted it for you with the master software. Skip-shift works based off of MPH and throttle percentage (check your owners manual). Since you have increased the gear ratio, that changes the MPH you shift at given you're shifting at the same RPM's when cruising around town...meaning you don't reach the MPH range to activate it in 1st gear. That's one possibility. Pretty much anything to do with how much gas you're giving it now (TP%) or what MPH your shifting at could be the reason you're not seeing the light anymore. But, it's not your programmer.

when i bought my car the previous owner had installed 4.10's. he had the cags eliminater in so it never hit the skip shift but the light would come on. then i put a hypertech in to get my speedo right and no more light.......i think its got to do with the mph/ rpm ratio in first gear. 4.10's wont let u hit it.

Hehe, that's funny.
When my car was near stock, I had 4.10's put in along with purchasing a Diablosport Predator. I always thought it was the Diablo that killed the skipshift.
My bad.
