the T56 is prob cheaper and easier to find and find parts for. double overdrive is sweet too. they're also quite strong also. i know nothing about the TKO-600. i have rebuilt my tranny in my car and it had 125k on it. there are not that hard to do if you find a busted one anyways. Good luck sorry i didnt really help you with your question at all.

well you can get one from an LT1 and it will bolt up to a old SBC or BBC with all factory stuff. thats what i am looking for parts to do to my old mans 55 belair with a BBC. big blocks and 6 speeds are SWEET. or if you are doing an LSX then you go and get everything from a Camaro or firebird with an LS1 are you putting one in the 69 in your sig or what?

I suggest you contact a Tremec dealer and ask for details on aftermarket T56s. They are designed to take the older bells( and release systems) and the shifter position is better than an Fcar. Or look on line at the details for a 1386-000-011.

I am am also putting a TKO 600 in my 92 camaro with an ls1 conversion, all you need to make that combo work is a custom pilot bearing that Mike Forte makes from Fortes parts connection. Give him a call he well help you out on your conversion.

If you use the Fcar trans , you will have to work out the shifter location( hole in the floor) and linkage. Unless you are going to sit in the back seat.
