I had a Pro 5.0 Shifter installed in my car when I got all the work done to my car. I love the way the Pro 5.0 shifts, but under hard acceleration the shifter makes a loud metal on metal rattle/vibration sound. I know more vibration is transmitted into the shifter because it doesn't have a thick rubber boot like the stock Hurst I had on my SS, but can anything be done to quiet the thing down?

It really sounds like *** when it does that. If I hold the shifter firmly while accelerating, it stops, but without holding it firmly it always rattles/vibrates when acclerating quickly.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what are some options to fix it?

My Pro5 was popping out of 3rd gear, so I backed the shifter stops out so that they don't contact the shifter. A side effect was that it stopped a lot of the rattle.

Please excuse my ignorance, but is that G2 shift **** a solid piece that threads on or is it one of those universal type *****? My mallory billet **** really cut out a lot of shifter noise in my car. There is still a bit of noise, but the weight of the solid **** seems to have gotten rid of 85 percent of it.

Put the rubber boot back on...I left mine on and have had no noise..What type of trans mount do you have on the car??? Michael
