once again, great costumer service from SPec.
guy's, I had another spec stg 3 go out on my car which is heavy at 3700 lbs race weight and clutch is dumped any where from 6000 to 7000 rpm's. THe car leaves with consistent 1.59 -1.61 60 ft's and would probably do a little better with a steel flywheel but not be as consistent.
The clutch has been in since August and has been to the track 4 times , all with hard launches . on the last visit to the track it slipped on a hard launch right off the trailer leaving at 600o rpms but did not slip on the next pass. I decided to try leaving on the nitrous at 3500 rpms and then hit the nitrous once it moved out but it just blew right through the clutch. Tried spraying 2nd and again blew through the clutch. I called spec after I got the clutch out and sent in some pictures and they are helping me out big time by giving me a choice of either going to a stg5 or a stg 3+ . I am going to try the stg 3+ as it is a full face clutch and better holding power.
I am paying the difference for what a stg 3+ is over the 3 but still a great response from Spec.
My advice to people who have problems when you call spec is be truthfull on how you drive your car, the power you are making and dont call with a bad attitude . I Have dealt with Daniel who is no longer there any more with great results and now with Matt. These guy's stand behind there product and even the owner is involved in this clutch replacement to try and help me any way they can.

I have always had good experiences with SPEC. I used to deal with Dave directly before they moved to their new location, but last time I wanted to upgrade my stage 3 to a stage 5 and have another stage 3 inspected before I sold it, Daniel Coe took care of me. Their customer service is awesome compared to some other companies.

It wasn't that bad.. You just have to get use to the squeal from the iron disc when trying to slip the clutch to take off. Other than that I really could not tell a difference. It grabbed hard at the track though.

Even though spec warrantied my clutches I got tired of changing them. They were not able to make a product that was able to hold 600 rwhp without
1. slipping
2. welding itself to the flywheel

3 stage 4F clutches (kept welding to the flywheel)
1 stage 5 clutch (pressure plate went limp)
Total miles on 4 Spec clutches... 8000 miles. I was changing my clutches more than my oil. I got about 25 track passes total between all those clutches.
Amazing how I had both extremes and no luck in between. I finally gave up and purchased a TH400 from rosler.
I would reccomend to stay away from spec. Good service, not so good product.

The spec clutch debate is nuts. Tiago has had major good experience, along with many others, yet it seems just as many others have horror stories. wtf? Its so strange one guy can get 20k+ miles on a spec 3 and others 2000 miles. Why such variation?

If Spec would not have covered this clutch, I was going with a rosler th350. I will not buy another clutch unless this next one last me atleast 2 years of racing and driving. I was going to do it this time as my transmission is at Futrals being rebuilt while waiting on the clutch to come back.

yeah, the grate costumer service I experienced was their technician admitting they sold me a POS. At the same time he couldn't do nothing because of his boss telling it was an installation issue...
The flywheel was not balanced, the pressure plate was clearly not flat and not balanced (I bought the clutch as a complete assembly).
Result: vibrations and chettering.
It's easy to screw costumers that are oversea: to ship this POS back and forth costs more than it's price
I'm glad for you guys that had your stuff replaced: they just should treat every costumer the same way.

I went with the stage 3+ but Am not planning any high rpm combined with nitrous launches. I will leave at high rpm N/A though.
On the gas, I plan to leave at 4000 and less.

**** SPEC! mine lasted 1000 miles with only 3 trips to the track and 10 passes. I didnt even launch it past 3000 rpm's either. I called them and they said , sorry but if you send it back to us we will check it out and see it was our fault. yea right.
