Default M6 grinds going into 3rd on about 1 out of 100 shifts. Solution?

Hello all. My M6 grinds like hell and rejects the shift into 3rd about 1 out of 100 shifts. It's rare, but it happens a few times a week and is absolutely annoying as hell. The car has never had anything more than bolt-ons, moser 12 bolt, spec 3 clutch, and only a handful of passes with et streets back in the day.

What could be the problem?

Is there anywhere in the Atlanta area you'd recommend to get it fixed?

What's the cost you'd estimate on fixing it?

Thanks a lot! I'm redoing the Trans Am after it's sat for a year and a half and this is one of the little problems I need to fix before I go for heads/cam/headers/ls7 clutch/ls6 intake/nitrous.

That's exactly what my car did and it required a rebuild.

3/4 shift fork
3/4 synchronizer
3rd gear
4th gear and input shaft
New shift fork pads
other misc parts

A lot of money if not under warranty!

yep big bucks to rebuild a t56, my 3/4 synchro, reverse synchro and gear needs to be replaced, i tallied up the costs of all the parts i needed and wanted and got a price from my friends dad on the actual rebuild, i found that even with that connection its cheaper to buy a remanufactured tranny for around $1100
d&d performance has allot of parts, although i was just checking out the link above, great prices! i might change my plans again...

It's not all that expensive to rebuild the T-56-

To the Poster (Shoot me a PM of where to go)

More than likely if it does a grind going into 3rd the chances are somthing needs a reubild yes. Chances are it appears to be a Shift fork starting to go
