Default How much power can a Stock T56 handle????

I got a 2000 C5 with many mods and I plan on spaying it. I have heard that the M6 is much stronger than the A4....

Is this true, and if so, how much power can I put through it before I need to worry?

The T56 is decently strong, but a rebuild wouldnt hurt. I just bought a built trans, so i dont have to worry about it ever again.

That is great news! I won't be running near that fast! BTW, that is an insane 60' time.

Thanks for the post.........it really puts my mind at ease. I should be running around 550rwhp and in the mid to high 10s.

So I'm not misunderstanding this, you are runnning 9.70's with 1.3X 60' times on a stock T56, with no tranny upgrades???

pro shifted- he dumps the clutch 1 time and rows the gears with his foot through the firewall
start saving your Pesos for a Viper spec T56
550rwhp is pushing the stock one if powershifted on often some have lasted on more horses but they will ease into every gear to make it last

I don't mean to sound like a dick head here, but your telling me the stock tranny is being pushed beyond its means at the HP level I will acheive and TOSTO RACING is saying his has been fine?

I'm happy with all replies, but I'm confused!

Tosto is saying he has gone 9's with his on 1.3 60's. Is that on a stock T56? Is it a 6 speed?

I have heard that the A4's are weaker than M6's......

" If Rockland Standard Gear's Tranzilla T56 truly is for real, it will be the standard by which all manual transmissions are measured.RSG says the Tranzilla T56 can take virtually anything capable of making 1,200 hp and 1,000 lb-ft of torque. To arrive at Tranzilla status,RSG stuffs your T56 with a 9310 main shaft and allows gears cut with a 22-degree Helix angle,a triple-cone synchronizer coupled with carbon-fiber synchro rings, steel 3-4 shift forks, and heavy-duty bearings. All Tranzilla internal rotating parts are balanced and blueprinted, and its available in a variety of gearsets".

I had to get mine rebuilt after 7000 miles on the whole car. just had a cat back. If you get the viper internals you will not be dissapointed. but wait till it goes to do that. I would say the driver has alot to do with it, the main issue it with the shift forks bending.
