Question after clutch install ??

Question after clutch install ?? Hey guys , I installed my new ZO6 clutch , flywheel , slave cyl. , I put about 250 miles on it and decided to give her a little "TEST" <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
Anyway , I have a loud BANG under the car when I shift her hard , and she wheel hops BAD , It has never done this before so Im a little worried I may have screwed somthing up on the install , My car only has 21,000 miles on it and the tranny mount look ok when I had it out , Any Ideas ???

Re: Question after clutch install ?? Sounds like the y-pipe is hitting the floorboard. Also, make sure the tranny mount is not torn or not torqued down properly. Double check the torque arm mount as well.

Re: Question after clutch install ?? whoops !! when you say tourqed down properly , What do you mean ? I was using air tools to tighten everything back up ! What specs is the mount suposted to be tourqed to ? thanks for the quick responce Jason !

Re: Question after clutch install ?? As long as everything is tight, you should be OK. I would just look up under the car and make sure nothing is close to the floorboard. Is this thump mainly on the 1-2 shift?

Re: Question after clutch install ?? Yes , on the 2-3 it it just has a slight thud ! The wheel hop is HORRABLE on the 1-2 , Of couse the fact that I have a clutch that actualy grabs may have somthing to do with it !

Re: Question after clutch install ?? LOL, you are probably correct there. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> Having a clutch that grabs does change alot of things.
What suspension mods have you done? I would look into some LCAs and some LCA relocation brackets. I have the BMR versions on my car and love them.

It's about time you got that clutch in. You might check your torque arm mounting at the axle. I did not have mine at the right angle when I tightened mine down and it was still a little loose. I also noticed a clunking coming from the rear when I went forward after backing up. Also, the stock tranny mount on mine didn't look broken, when I put my poly mount in, but it was really weak. I had a similar sound from 1-2 and 2-3, but after I installed the poly tranny mount, it was gone. The poly mount also helps to reduce wheel hop. It pratically eliminated mine. I would replace the stock mount anyway.

I climbed back under her this morning , everything looked fine , everything tight etc. , So I guess I will replace my mount , where is the cheepest place to get a poly mount ? And Jason , everything is stock underneith , But I guess that will have to change !
