Default 6" or a 6.5"?

I'm lookin' for a shorter shifter and I was wondering if I should go with a 6" or a 6.5" shifter because I have heard that it is easier to miss gears with a 6"... So I was wondering which one you guys would go with... Thanks for the comments in advance.

I went with the 6.5 inch and with my stock ball shift **** it has around 1/4 of an inch of space between being in 2nd/4th and hitting the console.

I'd imagine the 6 inch stick to hit the console with the stock shifter.
