Car is fixed! I installed a Mcleod adjustable master cylinder along with an Energy Suspension poly trans-mount. The car has never felt better! I finally get to enjoy all of my new-found power from the heads and cam

I HIGHLY recommend both of these components. FWIW, I didn't use the pre-load plate on the mount, and I didn't remove the small nubs either.

Mine does the same! Normal driving and it is smooth. But at WOT it seems real notchy going into the gears especially 3rd. My buddy said he had the same problem and when he put the pro 5.0 shifter in the car it became real smooth again.

So the stock Master is just a pos. I have the exact same problem you did. I changed to 243 heads with the hotcam and bam, I couldnt shift for ****. Then I wrapped my headers....no luck. bled the hydraulics...no luck...changed fluid...no luck. changed the slave...no luck. super insulated the line...no luck...changed the master to a stock replacement....no luck. I just want to beat on my car....just once. Where did you order the MC from?

It solved my problem yes. I also highly recommend the Energy Suspension trans-mount. It keeps the shifter in place a little better than the soft rubber stocker.

You can get the master from several of the sponsors on here. The cheapest place I found was T56Rebuilds, 2nd cheapest was Thunder Racing.

Hey BriancWS6, Glad you got it fixed, Im having the exact same problem with my car except i have a pos centerforce dual friction clutch and my clutch pedal has always felt weak.

How did you go about bleeding your hydraulic system?
what did you use insulate you your hydraulic lines?

I gravity bled it first, then I used a Mity Vac. Check this out for the instructions: http://performanceworks1.com/ls1_clutch_bleeding.htm

The line already has a rubber piece over a section of it, but I also got some 3/8 emissions hose and slit it length ways and put it over the entire steel braided line, even overlapping the other rubber tubing.

This is very interesting maybe I need a mc? My car shifted good, until I did the cam swap and I have the same problem as you, 2-3 it kind of blocks me for a sec and even 3-4 sometimes. Its killing me. I have 70k, new ls7 clutch though, no drill mod, have poly trans mount. Shifter is stock hurst with lss. Was thinking about pro 5.0 or the drill mod, but maybe a mc is the way to go? Damn I dont know what to do. But I know what you mean BriancWS6 I picked up 50rwhp with cam and since then car doesn't wanna shift fast, maybe just the 6500 rpms it doesn't like?

My car is doing the exact same thing as you Bryan! Thankyou for sticking with this thread and trying out a new MC. I will be purchasing a Mcleod in the spring when I go Spec3+ and cam. Until then.. I guess Ill take it easy at the track? Should I try the drill mod on my stock MC? Is it worth the time? (99 with 84k on it)

i think the drill mod would help a LOT of you guys out. if you have not read the sticky at the top of this section about it, do yourself a favor and read it; lots of very good info to be found.

Can you order just a new steel braided line from the master to the slave? My new master didnt come with one. Also I noticed on cold nights my car lets me beat on it pretty good without having the shifting problem, but in the hotter daytime it happens going into second gear.
