Clutch Spring Problem

Clutch Spring Problem
I just had to replace the small clutch spring that fastens to the clutch pedal under the dash. And it seem to be making my clutch slip. It won't let the pedal come all the way back (approx.1"). I'm I installing it wrong, does anyone have a diagram. Or do I really need it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. jwcej@msn.com

Well the only thing I can think of is that you are installing it upside down. If the coil comes in the path of the pedal on the way up it is upside down. The dealer replaced mine and placed it that way and the clutch pedal would not come all the way up. Pop it out and ensure the coil is out of the way.

Mine broke and I replace it and the pedal would not come all the way back up. But when I removed the new spring the pedal fully extended out. Does the springs go up or down? I also need the plastic part that goes on the pedal and the u bend of the spring. I broke it trying to get the spring off.

Dont even bother with it. Most of the people here on the site have thiers broken and dont have any issue with it sticking to the floor. There is enough pressure in the system to not need the spring. It is a pain in the a$$ to replace that thing. I did it once and it broke again, since then I have left it as is and have had no issues......

I was wondering if I could do that, I spoken to the dealer earlier today. He told me it was there for a reason.. And to put it back, but wanted to sell me the whole clutch and brake assembly for 100.00 just for the plastic part the spring U bend attaches to the clutch pedal. Said that they did not sell them separate, that's B.S.

When I replaced mine I placed the springs down, That's the problem. But I think I might just leave it out and see what happens. Like you were saying before. And the pedal won't go to the floor after the fluid get's hot?
Thanks again for the info I really appreciate it
