Question whats the best slave cylinder

where an what kind of slave cylinders are out there? what is the best to buy, an where? is there a high performance grade slave i can buy? whats the best brand to buy? has anyone bought the new GM upgrade , that they remade for the 02 models?

prob 99% of people just buy the one from gm from 01 02 models

you mean the one with the braded line is attach to it, an connects to the master. elimating the quick disconnect?

Just an 01-02 stock replacement. You want the quick disconnect feature. You should be able to fine one for around $90.

yah but ive put a 02 in there an it lasted f or two days, has no one had this problem with going though slave cylinders, what the deal

havin the same probs..my slaves are goin bad pretty quick. i'm on my 3rd one in 6 months. all are the 01-02 style.

3rd master as well (now have an adjustable ram)

for everyone blowing through slave cylinders. Do you inspect the throw out bearing before install and also do you inspect the fingers on the pressure plate?


Plus how many of you ride the clutch or slip the clutch. That will kill longevity in any clutch part!

We always use stock replacement's from 300hp to 1000hp cars.No problems here

the slaves come with new throwout bearings, and my clutch setup has less than 700 miles on it, fingers are perfect.

i agree and i just put a new slave, master (auto zone both), and mcleon clutch in about 700 miles ago when i blew my last slave and i just pulled my trans tonight and i had break fluid leaking from it so i know thats shot again...

Holy thread resurrection!

Anywho, I just replaced my slave and master with Duralast. I read up that some of the Duralast slaves are made by the same mfg GM gets them from - I made sure I got one with the "AP" marking and it was made in Mexico.
