Default Poll:are you happy with your T56???

HOW HAPPY ARE YOU WITH YOUR DESCISION TO SHIFT???
Well, you ditched the idea of leaving the line "like butter" and stomping the other guy, so how does it feel? You chose to row through your 6 speeds, over a huge stall and a boat weight 4L60... Have you any regrets? Let's hear it m6'ers!!!

i had a 93 t/a with a auto it was consistant at the track but boring on the street my formula with the 6 speed is way more fun to drive on the street and more of a challenge at the track

What, are you kidding? An auto is a 1/4 track only creature. My car sees dragstrip and mountain roads. And if anyone mentions that an auto is a better DD, I suggest you buy a truck like the one I use for pedestrian cruising.
edit--For anyone who wants to point out that a/4's are better at the dragstrip--You are correct, however, some of us don't live at the dragstrip.

The way I've allways seen it... M6 is good for the street because you can put the power where you want it. But if you have a serious bracket car, I'd go with a BUILT Automatic, they shift faster.

I'm a M6 fan, tho. Personally I HATE auto's. They're never in the gear I want. Plus I like rowing my own, I feel more connected to the car and it's more fun to drive.

I was driving around for a while w/ a smoked T56. I had no second gear (amungst other problems). I recently installed a T56 rebuild Micronite trans w/ a McLeod single. I love it! I get my second gear back and my car feels fast again...

I love rowing my own gears. Sure an auto can shift a little faster at the track, but to me it's more of a challenge to get an M6 to launch good at the track... and quite rewarding when you get it down. On the streets it's a blast, and I can't wait until I can get to a road course or Auto-X event.

JD783, my comment wasn't directed at you, it was directed at the topic of the thread.

i like autos a lot, but i like the challenge of the t56 more. i've owned both and my auto car was faster (12.2s vs 12.50s with the same mods), but i like the fact that i have to work to make the m6 do its thing.

Chicks also drive near stock cars like yourself. Get some mods and a low timeslip then talk.

I have a built A4 with a big stall. Ive owned a 6 speed aswell. I like having total controll of the car with the 6 speed, But Id say I honestly like the feel of a big stall with a nice shift kit a little better.

Hard to deny my old trans braked turbo 400, but the stick is just plain fun all the time. Its the gas sucking high stahl and extra heat I don't miss at all.

I love it & wouldn't have it any other way.

I really love being able to control my exhaust tone & the gas milage is great. Not to mention being able to down shift to race from a roll at pretty much any speed.
