M6 Tranny leaking about a quart a day! I took it to a tranny shop, and they said that it's leaking from where the main part of the tranny meets the back of the tranny. I thought it could have been the rear seal, but, it's not.
Has anyone done a gasket here before? Is it just an RTV gasket?
How hard is it to do? Undo the bolts, back it out a bit, clean it, RTV it, close it up? Can I do it while it's in the car?

See the plate in the lower right of the picture? That's the front of the tranny. It's just an RTV seal. No gaskets at all where the shell snugs against it.
As for doing it in the car, I'd almost bet you couldn't get it clean enough to get a good seal.

Mine is leaking at the rear of the tranny, just about where the rear support bolts to the car.
We looking/talking about the same thing?
Is it a simple unbolt the ~8 bolts, and pull it off type deal?
