it takes some finess. you can't just dump the clutch or you'll spin badly. you have to fine a happy medium between slipping the clutch and giving it gas. best i've done is 2.04. i usually get 2.1-2.2's.

Work on suspension LCA, PHR, adjustable TA, a rearend girdle, and some ET street Radials for a dragradial don't waste your time and money on any other street tires. Then u will be ready for 5k clutch dumps and 1.7 or so 60 foots. Lower 60s with 15" wheels and slicks after u grind your calipers. Good Luck

Don't listen to these guys telling you to dump it at 5k on a sticky tire unless you feel like replacing 10bolt parts. The best I was able to do on street tires was consistent 2.0x sixty times. I was accomplishing this by holding 2200ish RPM and slipping the clutch out, once the car was moving I would go WOT and completely release the clutch. This resulted in minimal tire spin and 2.0x sixty foot times. Just experiment with different rpms and find out what works for you.
FWIW, my 10bolt lasted awhile on BFG drag radials. I street raced the car routinely on these tires and never had a problem. I would launch the car around 3500-4k with a quick slip of the clutch. Once I added a set of MT ET radials I managed two good launches before chewing an axle.
If you have the money to put a good rearend in the car do it.

dont listen to anyone that tells you to dump it at 5k.
and dont listen to anyone that can only get a 2.0 on street tires :p
(im just kiddin with ya trigger1..lol)
you need to remember to be smooth on the clutch engagement... hold a RPM (the exact RPM is something that can only be learned by experimentation, but it'll be around 3k.. maybe higher, maybe lower) and let the clutch out swiftly, but smoothly.
as the clutch comes out, pour the power on, to that hold RPM... by the time the clutch is out, you should be hauling at WOT..
i donno if i explained that well, its hard to explain... its a feel thing.
the key to remember is, its better to lauch slightly softer and not spin, then to spin.
i cut 1.8s on street tires, occasionally 1.79s. 1.7s on DRs..

^ Listen to this guy, 1.8's on street tires with a M6 is all business. Better than my 2.0x times. Even better idea, ditch the whole street tire thing, put a good rearend in the car, add a set of slicks and start dropping the hammer.
The rev limiter makes for a nice launching point.
