Drag racing with a T56
Burnout: How are you guys doing your burnout?? I have no line locks. I was thinking of dumping the clutch while in second gear and tap the brake while letting her smoke the dr's. Not sure if my shitty stock clutch will like that though.
Launching: I was going to just do the heal/toe thing and launch at 2k. I am thinking since I have a maggie, I won't have to rev her too high.
What do you guys think? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.
That's odd that you can't do a second gear burnout in the water box......

I just mounted my used bfg 255/50/16's with fbody wheels. Took them out for a little test drive on the street. I brought them down to 25psi and roasted them a little. I tried launching just from idle and smoked them in 1st,2nd And 3rd
I know the track will be better than messing on the street but I just wanted to try them out.I am thinking I am going to bring them down to 18psi and launch from idle.
Now the launch. This takes finesse. You will need to learn the car. Start off low and work up. With your power and tire I would not start higher than 3k. Track conditions will vary too so don't think you have it down one day and do the same the next day. Then add 500RPM each launch till the car spins or subtract 500 if you spin. Oh, and launch in 1st.
Another note: You will never hook on an unprepped street with your power and tires (well any tire for that matter), so don't compare your traction to street driving. The track is a whole nother surface. Good luck and have fun!
I am going to buy drag bags and play with that for a while. The tires were hooking pretty good but once they hooked and I left the prepped area they would either spin or go into wheel hop mode
I raced at the Q. The take off is prepped pretty nice but once you leave the prepped area, it's a parking lot with some rubber on it, the track sucks period. I want to try Barona, THAT is a track!! I remember on my second pass, my clutch stayed to the floor. The clutch was slipping the whole night as well. Still on the crappy stock clutch. I have an LS7 clutch in my garage waiting to be installed.
I also purchased ATE super blue brake fluid, i will be flushing out the crappy napa dot 4 stuff and adding the high temp ATE super blue.
