Theres LOTS of LT1 guys over there and likely would know more info about a scatter shield for the t56. The M6 and t56 are not the same. The main differences are the bellhousing and the clutch system. M6 is Tremec made while t56 is BW although they are of the same design.

M6 just denotes what kind of transmission is it, not the model. Im also pretty positive that BW was bought out by tremec as a good number of the 98 M6 cars had BW on the case while most of the later cars had Tremec on the case.
M6 is what I call an LS1 tranny and t56 for an Lt1 style. At least thats how it is around my woods of the neck... er ya you get it eh?
