my stocker lasted about 28K miles with an assload of abuse and a TR224 cam at the time and all bolt on, 395hp on a mustang dyno...started slipping so i put in a spec 3 that lasted only 6K miles, now i have an LS7 clutch. i have like 8K + or - some on it and it still holds fine, but it's coming out this winter due to a huge jump in power for next year

Bought the car with 79k, had full boltons by around 89-90, started slipping on wot shifts. Had the engine rebuilt with h/c at 92k and threw in a Ram Powergrip which is holding damn well and it's already at 101500

65K miles. Friction was still fat, it was the diaphgram that went out. Three fingers got stuck and wouldn't release.
OZ 700 going in.

At 14K, mine would slip at the top of the gear. I put down 576/590 H/C/N, so it was understandable... I have a SPEC now that is taking the new 383's abuse.

Stock clutch came out at 50K+ and was still in good shape. Lasted Years longer than my spec 3 did.

i've got 63.3K on my clock, but i think the throwout bearing is shot2shit! 2002 f cars came with the Z06 clutch (as been told) which is rated to 450 ft lbs tq.
so unless you don't know how to drive stick (or beat the **** out of it like i do or went pass the 450 mark, you should be fine for 100K miles in my opinoin.

I bought my car at 51k with a stock clutch ('02) and it was great. I made upwards of 200 track passes on it and it stopped holding on the launch when I got Nittos. It still drove perfect on the street but just couldn't hold a launch at the track. At about 65k miles I took it out and got a Textralia, which I love.

How can you tell if it slips on up-shifts? I have 77K miles and when I shift at WOT into 2nd I get a slip second sound, but I think it might be my tires before the TC kicks in. I put it in 5th at 40mph and punched it, held fine, that is what my friend said to do if I wanted to see if it was ok. It holds fine winding out the gears too. Just worried aobut the split second "schhhkkkk" (more grind than shriek) sound on the 1-2. Its not the tranny. I think it may be tires spinning half a turn before TC gets em'. How would I know if it was clutch related?

Take the Traction Control off and see if it still does it.
Back in the days with steel bumpers, mechanics used to pull up against some thing imovable object, like a telephone pole and let the clutch out in fourth. If the engine didn't die, that meant it was slipping.
Now-a-days, I guess you could try pull the parking brake, assuming yours is working, and try the fourth gear move.

My stock clutch was just taken out at 69k, it never slipped but it was worn pretty good. Textralia OZ700 is the replacement
