Are you guys with 500+ rwhp running stock or built t56's? If stock how long are your tranny's holding up with a good clutch ?

Ive been running LS1's in various states of tune in my car for nearly 2 years.

So far, my stock T56 is working perfectly.

Some cars use a clutch that requires a pull action to relase the drive. I know a lot of high performance Jap cars use pull type clutches.

The more common type would be a push action to release, as per normal LS1.

i have run the RAM 910 VDS and it worked well, i fried it the last race of the year and now i have a TEX Exoskel. When spring time comes i will know how it is. i have gone 10.6 @131 w/ a 1.41 60' on the ram. this was on my last setup, this one should be faster.

taner, Holly SH*T!!! thats freakin nuts! This gives me hope that I can reach my goal of 9.99 with the 6spd!

Thanks all for the information, I would love to hear more if anyone else can chime in.
Man, I'm sory to hear that...I called Peter on a wot issue of the clutch not letting me hit the 2,3 shift....instead of him faulting my master, he sent me another clutch an pp without looking at my clutch....sorry you had a bad experience....textralia said if the clutch is faulty they'll reimburse me me some of my labor costs!!! find any company anywhere that does that?...

Go with the originator not the imitator. Go with the Mcleod Street twin. Unless you can afford to do it twice.

The strange thing is.

When I first entered the LS1 scene, I wanted a street twin. At that time, I had been using a street twin on my twin turbo Rover V8 engine and it was great.
Although the state teh alloy flywheel was in was rather shocking. The steel friction surface was very very concaved, with the inner friction plate worn to match.

But at that time, when I was enquiring, most tuners said dont use the twin on an LS1, as it will break your input shaft. None of them ever would explain how or why though.

I dont doubt their twin is an awesome clutch. That doesnt mean other brands arent as good, if not better.

Hell my single plate Tex is running faster than most people are pushing any clutches singles or twins, and there is still plenty left with a hard launch.
