I have seen several cars in the 5-600 HP range with them, plus alot of high HP Z06s are still on the stock clutch. They seem to be a good bang for the buck clutch.

I've heard good, and i've heard bad. I want to use it myself, but so far, the bad is outweighing the good.

^^^ thats what i want to know. I want to go with this clutch but i have heard its not the best for the track. I'd like to know what it can handle with some drag radials and a sticky track. before i dish out the cash.

1.6 60fts in my 4000lb goat, clutch dumping at 5200RPM sometimes. After 12K miles and 112 Track passes its done, but from what my sponsor says its the slave cylinder because it wont allow me to shift gears when I'm on it hard. It doesnt slip once engaged, so who knows its probably still good.... I'm gonna go with a dual disc as I need to dump higher, and back to back track passes the LS7 gets a little slippery. Of course for the weight of my car, and the RPM and HP I'm making, its made me a believer.

A friend was making 500rwhp in a 2900lb RX-7 with 402 LS2 setup and LS7 clutch. N/A it held the power fine... with a 75-100hp NOS shot I could smell the clutch when he returned to make more passes. It did go 143mph in the 1/4.

As people have said it depends upon power and most importantly weight.

477/431 Motor, +100 Shot when I get the fuel pump up to spec. My slave cylinder is bad now, clutch still holds fine, provided I can get it into gear.

So a car making near or under 400rwhp and around 3700 should be fine as long as you dont take it down the strip every weekend?

I spoke to Larry at Speed Inc today and he informs me that the LS7 is one of most LEAST problem clutches they have installed. He stated the clutch is good up to 550rwhp,as long as one DOES NOT slip the clutch at high or higher RPM... It's the clutch slip at high rpm's that glazes them. You can dump and should dump the clutch with higher rev's and not slip....
I'm getting an LS7 clutch installed in March along with some "other" goodies..

Larry thanks for the input!
