transmission removal

Default transmission removal

do i have to take the whole transmission out to get the slave cylinder

Yes you do. That's not a fun job...been there. Have the scars to prove it. The slave is attached to the transmission with two small bolts, so there is no way around it.

is there any site where they actually show how to do it.i'm doing it with a friend.

Here you go. It doesn't have any of the torque specs though.

Here are some of the torque specs you'll need.

Flywheel to crank bolts: 74
Pressure plate to flywheel bolts: 54
Bellhousing to engine bolts: 35
Transmission to bellhousing bolts: 26

All values are in ft/lbs.

Hey man before you torque those things down are you running a v6 or v8? Because those specs are WRONG for a v6

You do not have to remove the bell for that change.So NO you do not have to pull the whole thing.

Torque specs posted above are for a T-56 equipped f-body.
