The engine in question is a small block 400. I have a friend with a monte and i just bought a 93 parts car with a 6 speed and he wants to put the 6 speed in his 87 monte.

Not unless the flywheel is balanced for a 400 small block. Those engines were externally balanced from the factory. The stock flywheel will not bolt to the rear of the crank, so an aftermarket flywheel will be needed. Otherwise it should bolt right up.

I can't speak directly about your application, but here's a link for swapping a T-56 into a Third gen. ( http://www.skulte.com/T56.html ) I'll be swapping in a T-56 into my 91 Camaro in a couple of weeks.

yes it will. I got one behind my sbc. if you have a 1 piece rear main seal you can use the regular lt1 flywheel. if you have a 2 piece rear main seal you will need to get a different flywheel. I got a centerforce one from summit, centerforce is the only company that i know of that sells this type of flywheel. here is the link, see the description http://store.summitracing.com/partde...3&autoview=sku It uses a regular lt1 clutch and master/slave for the clutch. I also used the starter out of the car i got my tranny from. everything works amazing. the only bad thing is that the flywheel is hella heavy.
