Ive had a few shifters. 2 different hursts, pro 5.0 and B&M ripper

stocks have too much slop in em and long throws, pro 5.0 short throw but wayyyyyyyyy too notchy for me. B&M ripper was perferct for me. <-- never missed a shift with it either

Pro 5.0. I don't think there could be a better quality piece. Maybe equal but not better.

i love my pro5.0, My 5.0 doesnt make any noise or vibrations, it is alittle notchier but its ALOT easier to shift and built really heavy. I love knowing i can shift hard without having to worry about a overthrow. Best 170 i think ive spent on the car so far.

Hello All. I have a LSS on the stock Hurst shifter on my '02 SS. It shifts smoothly, however seems a bit too "soft" for my liking. I'm looking to firm it up with a crispier, more concise shifter. Can you guys give me an idea of the difference in feel between the Pro 5.0 and the B&M Ripper. I presume both have a nice, firm feel to them and I would like to make sure they were both pretty tough as this is my first manual car and would like to practice power shifting. Any thoughts or comments would be helpful. Thanks!

I have had pro 5.0s in my other cars and just ordered one for my Z28 also using a LSS. I have to say 5.0 all the way. It feels extremely firm and solid. Money well spent. B&M is ok just less solid to me.
