ok lets look at what we know
2009 camaro. iedepend suspension. shifter looks futher forward then 4th gen. two peice drive shaft.
here i aint going to argue.
i know the new tremec ls1f-body repalce meant bolts right in. i can use my shifter/ everything. and it is 2700 for a built trany that is pretty much better then a viper upgraded t56.
go a head and spend half. 1350. then replace what is broke. and mod it to fit.
i will buy mine and just bolt it strait in.

The T-6060 should work with an LS1 F-body as long as you get a matching flywheel and disc, since it is being put on the LS3s in the new Camaro and Corvette. And if not, who really cares? The T-56 is more than perfectly fine!

I don't know of anyone personally that's opened up a T6060, so I can only speculate. I've even spent a few weeks with Tremec and dealers trying to get manuals on them, without success.
I can imagine some of the same issues with the T56, being there on the T6060 (worn fork pads, broken synchro keys, etc.) so that while having a higher initial power rating, it still won't offset the need for being rebuilt stronger.
I've seen plenty of "800hp" viper T56s get taken out by a broken synchro key. The T6060 will be a nice option for swappers, but I don't see it as a panacea. You can still buy brand new GTO T56s for $2000+, but it won't be as good as a rebuilt unit with all the extras, for less $...
My $0.02

I called D&D today and they have them now! just got them in this week.
Sounds like the trans to buy if you haven't already bought a T56.
One thing I really like was it comes with both mechanical and electronic speedo outputs!
