Default t56 wierd problems

I'll give a brief story of what happened. the car has 10,000 miles full suspention 9" with 430's. I can drop the clutch @ 5000 rpm on the street and it hooks like a son of a gun with very little tire spin (less than 10ft). My question is, is there any way that all that torque under launch is killing the tranny. It got stuck in 4th gear after a run eventually it came out. I deciced to take it apart and much to my surprise 6th gear looks like you ground it on a belt sander. Why 6th gear is there any way the gears can crash into each other under severe load? Has anyone ever heard of this before? I'm beginning to think there is no hope with this unit.

? All speed gears are in constant mesh. They don't move the shift forks slide collars & syncronizers move & lock a specific gear in. Sound like rebuid time anyway, make sure you upgrade the forks.
