Place a tranny jack under the tranny and undo the tranny crossmember and let the tranny drop an inch or 2 and you should be able to get to the solenoid.

Argh. yea, the fuse was blown, but is shorted out somewhere. I just bought a new fuse, cranked the motor, it didnt go into reverse, shut it down, and saw that the new fuse blew. This blows :/
