Problems with Spec???

Has anyone else had problems with the spring windows on spec clutches? 1st time (06/2004) it happened the clutch was less than 6 months old (at most 1500 miles) with no track passes.

Sent it back to Spec and they replaced/upgraded it since it was still new. I went ahead and followed their recommendations and replaced all the hydraulics, trans mount, motor mounts, and even input shaft.

2nd time (03/2007) it has a lot more miles, 1 or 2 track passes but the same exact problem.

This really makes me NOT want to go with Spec a 3rd time.

I have a friend who has worked on more LS1 cars than I can count, and he swears by the Ram Powergrip HD.

1bad, have you checked the input-shaft play on the car? Is it within spec? I ask because this is the number one cause of issues with the hub. If you would like to give me a call I will be happy to discuss options with you. You have been a loyal customer and we appreciate that.

As for 69, I have tried to help you via PM and last time we spoke I requested pics of the unit. Without seeing the clutch there is no way for me to assist with trouble shooting or assessment. If you choose not to send pics that that is your business but there is no reason to act as though you have been left out in the cold. In the words of Jerry McGuire "Help me, Help you!"

As far as I could tell there wasn't any play in the input shaft. But, I've decided to go ahead and replace the input shaft, pilot bearing and go with another Spec stage 3. Ordered the disc and a flywheel Thurs from Jeremy.
