LS7 kit, pilot, and slave cylinder will run about $560 shipped. I would recommend going ahead and changing the slave/master while they're out. No sense in doing it twice if you put it in there and they are bad parts!

Matt, does the LS2 flywheel have to be used on this clutch? Also, does anyone know what the weight of the LS2 flywheel is?
I am interested in this great price, but I really wanted to go with a lightened flywheel while it was apart.

It just has to be the LS2/7 mounting....the LS7 pressure plate will not bolt up to an LS1/6 flywheel.

I am considering this setup. My car has never been dyno'ed....My mods are in the sig, at the most I have 415hp and 430tq at the wheels by researching similar setups, so the ls7 should be plenty of clutch for my power correct?

Hi Matt. I see your a supporter for the group. Nice that your helping out the members here. As a parts supplyer & seller. I was wondering something you might know. Son bought a GM master from the dealer. 2 month warr on it. He replaced everything. Gm Master, Ram slave, SLP flywheel, pilot, disk & pressure plate. Just before winter. Worked fine & parked it in the garage till spring. Takes it out & within a few weeks. Long & short. Master was bad. ( He gets a bad one, it happens.) Ordered one from another supplyer. Parts #'s are the same as the GM one we took out. Looks the same as the one we took out. Is there only one manufacture that makes them? Internals diffrent for quality tolerences or rubber internal seal composition from a seller for hydrolics? There is a diffrence you can see on the hard parts. Pressure plate, disks & friction material. What about the hydrolics system we have probs with, seeing them on postings. I own a few MG's & have rebuilt many brake-clutch master & slaves the past 20 plus years. Pretty basic hydrolic system, the internal rubber cup seal, seals the edge against the boar, helped by the fluids pressure when you press down the petal, or not. Worn edges, torn, brittle from age or heat, I/D bore gets pitted from age, water gets into the brake fluid. Too bad they just don't sell a rebuild kit with new O rings. Dave

WhosNXT, your setup will be fine with the less expensive LS7/LS2 combo. In general, I believe you should consider a heavier duty clutch at around 450whp.
Obviously it depends on how hard you abuse it but you gave a general question so there's a general answer.
bowtierodder, consider an upgrade from this clutch. I would recommend looking into Textralia.
