Default What's wrong?

Last year I had a McLeod twin disk and adjustable master prof installed. I later decided my feet needed more safety with my intended launch method, so I'm having an SFI approved bellhousing installed this year.

I broke the clutch in properly for 500 miles. I haven't taken it to the track since I want the bellhousing on before hand. Just before I put the car away last fall I got on it and on a hard 1-2 shift my RPMs sat at 5500 rpm while I was accelerating. It happens for maybe 1 or 1 1/2 seconds. I didn't think much of it b/c I had my street tires on and I thought they were spining.

I got my car back out this spring and it's done the exact same thing twice with the same tires on. Several other times it's grabbed really hard like I thought it should.

It seems to happen the first time I do this when I take the car out for a spin. The second and 3rd time I try it on the same trip it grabs hard.

I didn't do the drill mod based on the shops strong recommendation.

DO YOU THINK I'M JUST SPINNING THE TIRES? Or is it the clutch? Should have the shop look for anything in specific when they install the bellhousing in May? I got a remote bleeder extension that needs to be installed when they install the housing as well.

Thanks for your help in advance!

What shop told you not to do the drill mod? You need to do it, that restrictor will screw your hydros all up when you shifting in the high RPM's.

Other than slipping the 1st time each trip it grabs awesome. Unless it the tires.

Also, if it was slipping, don't you think it would hit the rev limiter rather than rev only to 5500 RPMs.

Nope it can hold it without hitting the limiter, strange but true.

not doing the drill mod should not cause the problem you describe.

the drill mod seems to affect the pedal...not the actual fuction of the clutch.

sounds like either slipping clutch...in certain situations...or spinning tires.

borrow some DR...see what happens

Actually the restriction in the braided line causes delay in clutch engagement also, which can lead to clutch slip when shifting fast at high rpm.

I'm going to put the DRs on and see if it's maybe just the tires spinning.

I put the DRs on and I didin't noticing any clutch slip YET. When I shift from 1st to 2nd at ~6100 RPMs the Revs only drop to ~5000 RPMS though. With 4.10s it should drop to 4100 RPMs. Is it possible to get 900 RPM / 10 mph increase while jamming the gas while letting the clutch out in 2nd? Either way, it's grabbing hard!!!

I'm getting the McLeod braided line from the master to slave just to make sure and get rid of the restriction. I'm trying to save every stock piece intact, incase I ever go back to stock.
