heat wrapping clutch line my personal review
Hey guys just wanted to share my experience. I think anyone with a 6spd should heat wrap their clutch line. I simply used tin foil which works great. I wish i did this a long time ago to tell you the truth the car shifts so much better(smoother) and clutch grabs harder and more consistant at all times ( spec 3 plus).
Anyone with a 6spd ls1 fbody needs to get under the car get some tin foil atleast and wrap that line and tell me how your car responded and let me know.
If everyone gets possitive feed back from doing this, I realy think it should be a sticky I honestly think im going to get more life out of my clutch by doing this now. Like i said before i wish i did this simple wrapping along time ago.

another person in agreement. When I switched to mid lengths, I wrapped mine in some split tube heat shield, then wrapped that in fiberglass tape. I just wasn't comfortable with how close the line was to the headers.

I actually split the protective black hose that was on the original one and added it to my new line when I replaced my master cylinder, so its protected by two pieces of insulation. No probs here.

yeah i just slit the hearer hose up the middle and put the braided line inside of it then zip tied it so the hose will stay on the braided line. Teh be sure to tie the entire thing as far from the header as possible

I appreciate it man.
One more question. Did you cover the braided line all the way up to the quick disconnect fitting?

I was just experimenting at the time so i used tin foil as it was in my kitchen and easy to mold i would like to replace it with something more pleasing to the eye soon but it makes a great temp if you dont have the time or money for anything else.
