My Z also has the hurst, and i was thinking of going 5.0. So is it worth the money?

I went from a b&m to 5.0 to a hurst and stayed with the hurst! Never missed a shift with the B&M or 5.0 but the Hurst was smoother and quieter IMO......

I just intalled the 5.0 on my car, and it is noisy downshifting, seems to work good though. The shifting is quite a bit tighter than the stock shifter.

My car only has 24k miles on it, so i don't think the hurst in it could get any tighter, theres is next to no play in it. I just wanna know if the 5.0 shifts better.

My Pro 5.0 is smooth as silk and the spring doesn't let you miss third at all.

Ripper is cool...but my main complaints are 1) you cant remove the handle, which makes changing it or modifying it difficult. 2) the pro 5.0 feels better...tighter, notchier, more precise.

and yeah, there are approx a billion threads about these two...haha.

If the pro 5.0 will help prevent me accidentally going from 2nd to 1st at redline I'm sold. I don't care how noisy it is.

I have Pro 5.0, and its never put me back into 1st coming out of 2nd. It almost automatically goes right to 3rd when you go to upshift. Excellent design.

You can get a pro 5.0 from ws6store.com with a new short stick for just about $200 shipped.

Perfectly said For those that say the Pro 5.0 is too loud Our cars are muscle cars not silent luxury cars.

I drove my Roadmaster with a Pro 5.0 shifter for a few thousand miles and loved it. Drove my new T/A with the Hurst shifter the previous owner put on it before I swaped it for my pro 5.0 and it was o.k. Never drove a T56 car with the stock shifter but I definitely love my Pro 5.0

I had a factory hurst, then I put a UMI short stick on it. I love the angle it gives. Then I bought a pro5.0 and put the UMI short stick on it and that is my best setup to date. Also, I have no more noise than with the stock hurst. I used a good amount of gasket maker though and let it dry and then installed it.
