If you hate the pro5.0 there is no hope for you, its the best... What stick are you using, maybe its too long/short?

I have a Pro 5.0 with an LSS and like it. There's quite a few people on here who don't like it. A lot prefer the B&M. Don't let anybody tell you what YOU like. Try and drive a car with one of each of them if you can. I seen a thread on here a week or two ago where a bunch of guys prefered the factory Hurst over the aftermarket brands. It's all in what you like and what you are used to IMO.

If you dont like the Pro5.0 then go with the B&M Ripper. Its always between those two. Like theyre opposites. So it makes sense lol

Cant believe you dont like the Pro5.0. What about it dont you like?

When I had a Pro 5.0 I hated the notchy feel, the vibration, and the noise.

the reason that i dont like it is about the same everyone else did notchy noisey etc the 2-3 shift is crap or at least for me i started missing 3rd more when i put it on has anyone else had this problem??? i cut it down about 3" and slanted it slightly back just so i could tolerate it for the time being but now the trannys out and i figured it is time and not to dog on anyone here but there is not one best its what people like and i want to here everyones opinon on what they like and what they dont about ones theyve tried etc.. or i guess i can do like i do most other things buy em all and find out which one i like better then sell the rest but that takes alot of time and is kinda expensive and there is no ls1 cars in my area with the others it either the pro or stock and ive tried both of those i need to try the hurst and the b&m which is what im leaning toward right now but who know i could possible keep the pro but if not be looking for it it will be for sale within the next month probably for all you intested or make me an offer i cant refuse and i might just let her go now PLEASE TAKE PART IN THE POLL

I have the B&M and can honestly say I love it. Hell it is just a shifter. I believe they are all pretty good products. It just comes down to personal opinions. Good luck.

First off Im not gonna tell you which shifter to get, Im just going to offer you my opinion. I love my B&M. The great thing I love about it is how when it is in neutral, or you are trying to find 3rd (not that any of us on hear do that) the shifter will sit right in the middle of the gear box. It sits right in the middle of 3rd and 4th, which leaves no room for error. So no worries about hitting first or hitting 5th instead. Take in what everyone's opinions are about all these products, and make your own decision. And if you can like some of the others said, if you get the chance to try out someone elses, do it. Good luck with your decision.

I'm interested in this thread also...I have been modding my car and skipped around the shifter because I'm not sure which I would want.

I can tell you why I don't like the b&m. The stick is one piece. In order to get the stick any shorter, you have to cut it down, which imho, sucks. As far as teh whole "but it sits in teh center" thing, SO? My pro5.0 does that to..

I voted for the B&M. I would have to say the only way you will ever make the right decision for yourself for sure, is to try to drive a car with each of them if possible. Everyone has their own preferences and each shifter has its own pros and cons.

I've got the pro5.0 and hate the spring pressures on the shifter. I've tried putting my hurst springs in the 5.0 ... made it better. But I still prefer the Hurst feel better. So i'm going back to the stock hurst w/ a UMI short stick on it here in a week.

I have a pro5.0 and I like the shifting but it is so horribly noisey, ive spent so much time doing different things to make it less noisey. Im about to buy a B&M just to see if it isnt so damn loud. I used rubber washers under the 4 bolts that connect it to the tranny and i have a cork gasket underneath. The stick I tried putting some material inbetween each stick and tightening it down and it still makes a hell of a racket.

I hated my Pro 5.0 too, so I tore it apart and replaced the springs with some much stonger ones and now I can't miss the 2-3 its so sweet!! And I had the LSS and hated it so I put a Speed Inc. strait stick and its great!! it is noisy but hell so is the 12 bolt and freaking Spohn TA, but I can deal with it. If I were to get another one it would most likely be the Hurst Billet Plus because the B&M one is a one piece and it is to tall for me.
