Have to shim a SPEC clutch?
I just recieved my spec stage 3 clutch in the mail today. I read the paperwork that came with it and it says something about having to use a shim when installing it? Anyone have to do this and have any problems in the future with it?
Thanks

Re: Have to shim a SPEC clutch?
There was paper work with it? Mine had none. When I installed it and first tried it out the clutch was catching at the floor but after I bled the system it came up off the floor about 2 1/2 to 3 inches. It seems to work OK but there was a lot of chatter in the beginning, now it is not too bad.

Re: Have to shim a SPEC clutch?
My stage 4 came with a shim. It just goes between the slave and tranny. I don't think you need it if you use an adjustable master but I may be wrong there. The shim is just a green piece the same size round as the slave.

Re: Have to shim a SPEC clutch?
Thanks for the responses guys, I am going with the adjustable master so hopefully I won't need to use it? The paperwork I believe says generation 2 SPEC, so maybe it is a new redesigned style? I think I read somewhere about a new generation of SPEC coming out?
Anyone else have any experience with the "shim"
