Which clutch?
so I have a stock 2000 SS but people have been tellin me that i shouldn't put a stock on back in, i don't know if i'll do any mods to it, but if i do, it'll be a cam and heads, so what kinda of clucth do you guys suggest? should i just stick with the stock one since i haven't done any mods or should i get an aftermarket one, and which one.

I may be the lonely voice on this thread but I suggest avoiding the LS7 clutch entirely, if mods are in your future. It glazes easily on launch.
If you're staying stock or under 400 rwhp, then the LS6 clutch is a very reliable choice.
Second suggestion is to not change the clutch at all unless the current one is confirmed to be slipping.
If you have current clutch pedal issues, you might want to read this: Taking Care of Your Clutch

I have a Ram powergrip HD and i love it. my buddy has the LS7 clutch in his bolt on 99SS and is already showing signs of wear. i went thru 3 or 4 spec stage 3's. Theyre great when they work right and not go defective. I only got about 5k miles or less on each one....

If you do launches esp on sticky tires, then 150-200 passes is decent life if you use a fast clutch release. If you slip the clutch to keep the rpm up, expect far fewer.
Either way, your clutch life will be extended by following the fluid protocol laid out at my site.

Getting into that clutch fluid changing routine is key to a healthy clutch. Just keep in mind it may take many changes (10-20) of the reservoir to get the fluid truly clean and clear (zero murkiness). The good news is that can be accomplished in around an hour for a cost of about $10. Then the task of keeping it clean requires only occasional changes, depending on how aggressively you drive.

i'd for sure go with the ls7 clutch and flywheel. it's a great clutch, drives great, and is OEM quality.

The LS7 may be OK for a driver who never launches the car and still has a lightning fast clutch leg.
Other than that, I'd suggest avoid the LS7 clutch. 73 passes and counting. Still aggravated by the whimpiness of this clutch.

I changed out the clutch fluid per Rangers directions tonight. I should submit my clutch fluid for worst ever taken out of a car! It was really bad. I think it was tar and not clutch fluid.
On another note - I installed the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch this weekend. I know it is no Textralia or Cartech but who would expect it to be for $400. I am really happy with it so far. I have not hammered on it yet as I am breaking it in but so far I love how it feels.
