Default Do I need Shims if I resurface my flywheel?

what would happen to the clutch if I resurfaced the flywheel over getting a new one. Would I need to use shims to take up the gap, or what would I need to do. Thanks. I'll be going with a spec 3 carbon clutch.

Depends on how much they took off? Mine was .015" and I didn't shim it. No problems here.
