Default Mis-shift :(

I was at about 5500 rpms and I accidentally shifted from second to first. The car jerked alot, but none of the wheels screeched or locked-up. I didn't look at the tach to see the rpm's, but I IMMEDIATLY pressed the clutch back in (not positive i even released it all the way). The car seems to still run fine? Do you think my car's ok, and what are the possibilities of problems in the long run..It's a LT1 ???.

I searched and found alot of threads about this topic, but i'm really worried about it and wanted some input on my exact situation

bent pushrod is what normally happens with the ls1, so I guess it would be the same thing......but if it still runs like normal, my guess is you pressed the clutch in fast and didn't over rev the motor

If you bend a push rod you would be able to tell...if you are over worried you can take them all out and check them out....a good saturday afternoon job.

I did it once (I blame it on the stock shifter! ), redlined 2nd gear, and threw it into 1st....I caught it really quick, it was in gear for maybe a fraction of a second.
Found out later on, after pulling out the engine, that I blew up the Pilot Bearing. Luckily it didn't damage the trans....it only left a couple nicks on the input shafts' tip.

actually you wont always be able to tell a bent pushrod....sometimes they will make noise sometimes they wont...you usually wont notice a drop in power unless a few of them are severly bent....
unless they are bent real good you usually wont be able to tell by just pulling the valve cover....id pull the rockers just in case...lol but im **** when it comes to these things....you may not have any problems but its always good to double check

as long as you didnt keep it there for long, it should be fine.

check and see if you can hear any ticking noises, or the like.. but you should be fine
